You Need Some Katrina Sunrise In Your Life

Want in on a secret, 211 faithful?

Some morning, when you feel like mixing up your routine a bit, do yourself a favor and order a Katrina Sunrise. Trust me on this one.

Normally, I’m a coffee purist — a pour-over kind of guy. I’m all about the V60, Chemex, Aeropress and (when I’m looking to up the potency a bit) the Frenchpress. Those options, and the fact Mauricio and staff take such pride in serving them up, were what made me a 211 loyalist.

But … one day, I walked into the cafe and was convinced to give the Katrina Sunrise a try. I’ll admit, I was a bit hesitant at first. A cup of orange juice on the rocks … with a shot of espresso over the top? You’ve got to be kidding me, right?

Wrong.

Regardless of what that combination sounds like to you, the fact is it’s ABSOLUTELY GLORIOUS!!!

All the feels of a good-morning orange juice with a blast of 211 goodness. Watching the OJ morph with the espresso as the barista sprinkles it over the top is about as mesmerizing as staring at a lava lamp or a campfire. And it goes down especially well during the warmer spring and summer months. Although, I love it so much I may or may not have ordered a Katrina Sunrise when it was 10 degrees outside.
